In this talk, Thomas Lawrence will illustrate how Amadeus, as the travel industry leader, has used Neo4j to visualise the complexity of their highly distributed systems. The power of graph has allowed us to explore new areas including technology migration impacts and the challenge of meeting GDPR compliance.
As the world leader for the travel industry, Amadeus is using highly distributed systems to serve over 2 billion transactions a day. This leads to a large application ecosystem, which can grow rapidly in complexity through emerging technologies and acquisitions.
In order to understand the inter-dependency of these systems we needed to build a cartography of Business Services, Applications, Technologies and Integration points. We will demo our solution to this problem built using Neo4j, YAC (Your Architecture Cartography), designed to take on the beast of the architecture landscape.
Furthermore the power of graph and Neo4j has allowed us to quickly expand to new use cases, we are excited to demo the latest of these on technology migration and data compliance for GDPR.
Thomas Lawrence is currently working as an Enterprise Architect for Amadeus in the South of France. Over the years he has worked across many industries and different technology stacks, covering everything from development, to solution architecture and product ownership. His latest adventure sees him joining GraphConnect NY and presenting a friendly product called YAC (Your Architecture Cartography). If you visit the Cote d'Azur you'll likely spot him paddleboarding out on the Mediterranean or rock climbing up in the local mountains.
